Autograph letter signed from John Moyle, Bake in St. Germans, Cornwall, to Colonel Robert Bennet, London [manuscript], 1653 June 2.

Moyle discusses his concerns over the end of the Rump Parliament on 20 April 1653, points out the necessity of Parliament providing for the armed forces, and welcomes news of an election of members for a new Parliament. Does not dispute the cause or lawfulness of "the shutting of [th]e parl[i]am[en]t doores." Letter also discusses some personal and local affairs.

Colonel Robert Bennet of Hexworthy in Lawhitton, Cornwall, was one of the leading Parliamentarians in the south-west of England, specifically Devon and Cornwall, during the Commonwealth.
